Will I get a six-pack by doing a lot of sit-ups?
No. It's very common for people to think that doing a lot of sit-ups or ab exercises will result in a six-pack. Ab exercises will strengthen your abdominal region, but if you still have a layer of fat ontop, no one is going to see it. You need to concentrate on decreasing your body through aerobically exercising and hypertrophy programs.
What is the best way to lose weight?
There are many ways to lose weight. It's best to combine a few to get the best results. Firstly, a healthy diet is very important and should never be overlooked. The dedication to exercise and do a lot of cardio exercise such as; running, cycling and rowing is important. Weight training is equally important which is what a lot of people don't know. An increase in muscle mass allows the body to burns fats more efficiently.
In what order should I exercise?
The easiest way to remember the order of exercises is to think from biggest to smallest. So basically work on your largest muscle groups first and then go through to your smallest. For example, start by working your back, quadriceps, chest, shoulders and so on.
Also, a lot of people tend to use the treamil or stationary bike prior to a weights routine, this is not an adequate warm-up. Your warm-up should simulate the actually action you will be doing. And quickly, if you combine cardio and weights training on the same day, you should complete your cardio section after you've competed your weights training.
I have been exercising for sometime now and no longer seem to be losing any weight?
This is common problem when people do not have carefully planned training programs. Another major reason is that if you're weight training, you will actually be increasing your muscle mass and as muscle is more dense than fat, it weighs more. So you may actually be losing body fat but increasing muscle mass. This will mean you will not actually seen any changes on the scales. Programs need to constantly be changed so your body does not become comfortable, you need your body to continually adapt to new training.
